How the countdown works
The tool counts calendar days, not complete 24-hour periods. “Today” is determined in the Europe/Kyiv time zone, even if your device is elsewhere. The holiday date itself shows “today”; from the following day, the countdown uses next year’s date.
Calculated for the Kyiv calendar date: . Reload the page after midnight in Kyiv to update the count.
Which Christmas date is used?
The Christmas countdown uses 25 December in both language versions. Before this date it counts to Christmas in the current year; on 25 December it shows “today”, and from 26 December it counts to Christmas next year.
Does switching language change the result?
No. Both versions use the same holiday dates, Kyiv calendar and calculation. Only the wording and date format change. A browser alarm below uses your device’s local clock, not Kyiv time, and requires the page to remain open and active.
This page counts days to 1 January 2027.
